🔎 Overview

Michael Sullivan & Associates is actively seeking a skilled Employment Law Partner with 8+ years of PAGA litigation experience. This role is ideal for top-tier defense attorneys with a passion for employment law, complex litigation, and compliance strategy. Plaintiff-side attorneys need not apply.

🧾 Key Responsibilities

1. PAGA Litigation

• Lead and manage PAGA claims including class-action style cases
• Develop defense strategies to mitigate risks and reduce litigation costs
• Direct discovery, prepare motions, and represent clients through trial or settlement

2. Client Advisory & Compliance

• Advise clients on labor law compliance, audits, wage/hour regulations
• Support in drafting proactive policies to avoid PAGA violations
• Monitor and interpret changes in California labor legislation

3. Business Development & Client Relations

• Expand existing client base and develop new partnerships
• Deliver training on PAGA best practices and legal updates
• Promote the firm's employment defense expertise at industry events

4. Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Mentor junior associates and legal staff
• Oversee quality of filings, motions, and case strategies
• Foster a collaborative and growth-driven team environment

✅ Job Competencies

• Must have a well-established employment litigation defense background
• Deep experience with PAGA and class-action employment claims
• Trial experience preferred
• JD and active CA Bar license in good standing
• Excellent research, negotiation, and writing skills
• Proactive approach to complex case management
